Every year, La Dogana hosts Yoga retreats on it’s beautiful forty acre olive grove estate. Mixing yoga and Italian activities gives guests a unique experience they will not forget. Just picture yourself starting your morning in downward dog in the rolling hills of Italy on a beautiful Italian morning. After breakfast, a day of adventure awaits with a city tour where you can shop, eat, and explore your way around an old city. Or maybe go horseback or bike riding in the Tuscan hills. After returning to La Dogana and relaxing by the pool, a four course Italian dinner awaits. Come and see what else La Dogana can offer you on this amazing retreat.

The all inclusive retreat includes:

  • Accommodation in our venue’s apartment
  • 6 Breakfasts
  • 6 Dinners (3-course meals)
  • 3 city tours including guide and transfers
  • Wine and olive oil tasting at Montemelino Vineyard
  • Pizza cooking course and tasting
  • Shuttle service to and from Florence Airport

Moreover, La Dogana also offers rentals of bikes, vespas, horse rides, and massages. Hikes down to the lake and up to a castle with phenomenal views of the Tuscan hills are also available.

Our yoga teachers, tour guide, and La Dogana owner Lucia will be at your disposal for whatever you need during your stay.

John has been working at La Dogana for three years helping with our marketing, guided tours, and yoga retreats. Before John was at La Dogana, he had already lived in Italy for two years. John went to college at John Cabot University in Rome for his entire junior year. While in Rome, John met Lucia (owner of La Dogana) in a marketing class and they have been friends ever since.

After returning to Boston to finish his business degree, John got a job as a tour guide in Florence where he toured around European countries such as Spain, France, Germany, Prague, and many more. John has always had a passion for traveling and loves sharing the experiences with the people he meets along his travels.

John was born and raised in Massachusetts on the peninsula of Cape Cod. He then went to college in Boston with a focus in Marketing and Entrepreneurship.  Besides travel, food, and wine, John is a die hard Boston sports fan and would love to talk about any sport besides futbol/soccer for once.

LA DOGANA                                          MONTEMELINO

La Dogana has partnered with our next door neighbours, Montemelino Vineyards to allow more guests to experience the beauty of this unique region of Italy. With La Dogana and Montemelino being a stones throw away from one another and working in the same industries, a partnership was inevitable. With so much in common both locations bring you the same value and amenities to enjoy on your Italian getaway.

A family estate of the de Ferrari’s for generations, La Dogana’s 40 acres are actually a national landmark in Italy and a popular wedding venue. With the capacity to room over 80 guests, La Dogana has apartments each containing their own kitchen appliances, bathroom, bedrooms, and a beautiful view.

A 30 meter pool overlooks the Trasimeno lake and Tuscan hills to help you unwind and relax. Our restaurant, Antica Dogana will be preparing 4 course meals for you every night. Chef Stefano is sure to deliver one of the best experiences of the trip.

Montemelino is a small organic family farm since 1960. The farm is now run by Sabina and Pier who decided to leave the city life to carry on the family tradition and produce quality wines and oil that express the extraordinary terroir of Lake Trasimeno.

Just like La Dogana, each apartment comes with its own kitchen appliances, bathroom, bedrooms, and views. A pool also overlooks the vineyard with stunning views of the rolling hills and lake Trasimeno, exuberayting a classic Italian charm.
