Why la Dogana
La Dogana is my family’s historic farmhouse on the border between Tuscany and Umbria. I am the fourth generation to care for this estate, and nine years ago I took it over to lovingly transform it into a place where couples can celebrate in a relaxed, authentic atmosphere.
We are a small all-female team of nine plus Matteo our amazing gardener, myself, our venue manager and our in-house wedding planner, and we look after every detail of your days here, so you and your guests feel truly welcomed, cared for, and leave with memories that stay in your hearts
Your 4-day wedding experience

Arrival & Welcome Night
From 2:00 pm our team welcomes your guests to their apartments, while you and your close family can arrive earlier to settle in and start getting ready. In the evening, everyone gathers at our restaurant overlooking the lake for a relaxed buffet dinner with homemade pasta, focaccia, pinsa and gelato, served under string lights with wine, beer and aperitivo drinks included.

The Wedding Day
Late morning snacks are delivered to the bridal house and to your guests so everyone can enjoy an easy start to the day. Your symbolic ceremony takes place either on our Roman terrace surrounded by olive trees or in one of our back‑up spaces, followed by a generous Italian aperitivo by the pool or at the restaurant.
Afterwards, you sit down to a seated dinner with two first courses and one main course, tailored to your guests’ tastes and dietary needs. Later in the evening comes your cake cutting and three hours of open bar and dancing, with music and service available until 2:00 am.

Pool Brunch & Last Dinner
The next day you can host a relaxed poolside brunch or lunch with savoury and sweet dishes, Aperol Spritz, wine, beer and soft drinks, giving everyone time to recover and enjoy the view over the lake. In the evening, you gather again for a cozy final dinner featuring bruschette with our own organic olive oil, cured meats and cheeses, homemade lasagna and tiramisù, with drinks included.

Farewell & Check‑out
After breakfast and a last swim or walk among the olive trees, it’s time for check‑out and goodbyes or for your guests to continue their Italian holiday.

Your 2027 wedding package has been designed as a complete four‑day experience. It includes, among other things:

Spaces & Accommodation
La Dogana is an 18th‑century farmhouse complex with:

11 self‑contained apartments (20 bedrooms)

An additional independent cottage (3 bedrooms)

A private house for the bride and groom
In total there are 23 bedrooms, plus the option to add extra single beds in several living rooms.
Each apartment has a living area, kitchen, private bathroom and an outdoor table with lake views. Furnishings are mostly antique, while kitchens and bathrooms are modern. All apartments are equipped with air conditioning.
Just a few meters away, a shared facility house offers washing machine, ironing facilities and basic kitchen essentials for your guests.
At the top of the hill, among 300‑year‑old olive trees, you find our 26 m x 5 m swimming pool with panoramic views over Lake Trasimeno and its islands. Next to it lies our Roman ceremony terrace framed by four ancient columns and surrounded by olive trees and a secret Italian garden, a magical setting for your vows and sunset photos.
The heart of La Dogana is our restaurant, set just below the main house and facing the lake. Breakfasts, welcome dinners and evening parties are enjoyed under the wooden pergola, framed by string lights and surrounded by gardens. In case of cooler weather or rain, the historic indoor Mill Room, our former olive mill, becomes an elegant back-up space for dinners, ceremonies or dancing.
This flexible layout allows you to keep all your events in one place, moving smoothly between outdoors and indoors while maintaining the same warm, intimate atmosphere.
Where we are and how guests get here:
La Dogana sits in Umbria, right on the border with Tuscany, just 20 minutes from Cortona and only 3 km from the lakeside town of Tuoro sul Trasimeno. The estate overlooks Lake Trasimeno and its islands from almost every angle.
Approximate driving times from the nearest airports:

Most guests choose to rent a car, but we also work with a trusted local transfer company offering private vans and buses up to 50 seats to bring your guests from airports and nearby towns directly to the venue.
Guest numbers & investment:
For comfort and for our indoor back‑up plan in case of rain, we recommend keeping your guest list at around 40–60 adults.
For 2027, our four‑day wedding package for 40–60 adult guests, including welcome night, wedding day, brunch and final dinner with all described services, is priced according to your final guest count.
Accommodation and breakfasts are charged separately, with a minimum three‑night, exclusive‑use stay for 40 adults.

Lucia und Michelle bilden ein wunderbares Team und machen wirklich alle Wünsche für den großen Tag war. Wir hatten eine wundervolle Hochzeit, die wir von Anfang bis Ende in vollen Zügen ohne Stress genießen konnten. Das war nur durch die tolle Organisation und Planung von Lucia und Michelle möglich. Die beiden denken an alles und kümmern sich ganz liebevoll um alle Gäste. Die beiden lieben ihre Arbeit und diese Liebe haben wir in jedem kleinen Detail gespürt.

Limited Dates
We host only a limited number of weddings each year and reservations can be made up to two years in advance.
2026 is fully booked; we open bookings for 2027 dates from 1st December 2025.
