How to Arrive

We are at Trasimeno Lake at the border between Umbria & Tuscany

We are located on Lake Trasimeno, right on the border between Umbria and Tuscany. Arriving by car is straightforward — no long winding country roads.

BY CAR

La Dogana (Lucia’s Estate) is located on Località Dogana 7, Tuoro sul Trasimeno.

From the highway:

  1. Exit at TUORO SUL TRASIMENO
  2. Follow the main road until the traffic lights
  3. Turn left direction Arezzo (Via Firenze)
  4. Continue until you see the historic “La Dogana” building with five arches
  5. The restaurant is on the left; the apartment entrance gate is a few meters ahead on the right.
  6. At the gate, use the intercom and press the ring button. Our team will open the gate and assist with check-in.

Check-in: 2.00 – 7.30 pm

If you arrive earlier, you’re welcome to relax by the pool while we prepare your apartment.

Check-out: 09:30 am

You may enjoy the pool area after check-out (apartment must be vacated by 09:30).

 

BY AIRPLANE

  • Perugia (PEG): ~30 min

  • Florence (FLR): ~1h 30

  • Pisa (PSA): ~2h 10

  • Rome Fiumicino (FCO): ~3h

Rome usually has the most direct international flights, while Florence is closer.

Tip: renting a car at the airport often makes departure day much easier.

Private transfer (indicative):

    • Florence → La Dogana: from €350 (1–8 guests)
    • Rome → La Dogana: from €450 (1–8 guests)

    Prices may vary by season — please confirm directly with the transfer company (details below).

BY TRAIN

Nearest station: Terontola–Cortona
Tickets & schedules: Trenitalia (official).

  • From Rome Fiumicino: Leonardo Express to Roma Termini, then train to Terontola–Cortona
  • From Florence Airport: Tramvia to Firenze SMN, then train to Terontola–Cortona

Important: taxis are limited in small towns — book in advance.

What should I type in google maps?

Is the road difficult or unpaved?

No, the road is easy and on paved roads you won’t need a 4×4 to arrive at the estate.

Where do we park when we arrive?

Parking is available on-site. Once you reach the entrance gate, ring the intercom and our team will open the gate, the parking is up on the right.

We’ll arrive early. Can we come anyway?

In summer: usually yes (pool area available).
Retreats/weddings: by request only, please message us in advance.

What if we arrive late?

Late arrivals must be requested in advance (our reception closes at 19:30).

Arrivals between 19:30 and 21:00: possible by request and confirmation.
Arrivals after 21:00: possible by request and confirmation, with a late check-in fee of €40.

If you think you’ll arrive late, please message us as soon as possible on WhatsApp/iMessage with your ETA.

It is easy to find a taxi at the train station?

Taxis can be limited in small towns and are not available right in front of the train station. We strongly recommend booking a taxi in advance.

Can you arrange a private transfer from the airport?

Yes we can share trusted contacts for private transfer (1-8 guests). Prices vary by season, so we can suggest confirming directly with the provider.

Which airport is the best?

It depends on your flights:

  • Perugia (PEG) is the closest (about 30 minutes).
  • Florence (FLR) is a great option (about 1h 30).
  • Rome Fiumicino (FCO) often has the most international connections (about 3h).

Do you recommend renting a car?

Yes absolutely, especially if you plan to explore the area and for an easier departure day.
